In most cases, classes start at 10:00am EST (7:00am PST)
If you are attending a Live Virtual course: We recommend a computer with two monitors so you can watch the instructor on one screen and perform activities on the other screen. You also will need audio as the instructor will be speaking to you in real-time, and we strongly recommend a microphone so you can ask questions and interact with the instructor in real time as well. We recommend a headset (headphones with microphone) as opposed to a desktop or laptop microphone with audio speakers in order to minimize any audio echo or audio feedback. Sometimes a high-quality combination of stand-up microphone with audio speakers works well, but please make sure to test your setup to make sure that it does not echo or feedback the audio output for best results. We also recommend a fast, high quality internet connection that supports live streaming (since for the Live Virtual courses, the instructor will be streaming to you live, in real time).
If you are attending an In-Person course: Almost nothing at all! We provide all computer hardware and software necessary for class. Feel free to bring in your own snacks/water/etc.
No way! We usually call our “online” classes “Live Virtual” classes, and that’s because the instructor is live in real time! You are able to view the instructors screen and ask questions via your phone/computer microphone. View our live online training FAQ.
You will have access to the labs 24/7 during the class.
In most cases, no. You will need to ask for a specific written exception from Dynamics Edge, Inc. if you want to receive a recording of the class. Please note that recordings, if authorized, are for your own review only. You will need to ask for a specific written exception from Dynamics Edge, Inc. for your case if you want to do something like, for example, to allow your manager that isn’t attending the class to review the recording, etc. Besides anything in your written exception, if you receive a recording it is for your individual, personal use only, and cannot be redistributed or resold, as all the copyright and intellectual property rights to the course and video remain with Dynamics Edge, Inc. If you are given access to a recording, you should consider it confidential material that has actual value, and this value may be compromised or reduced if the recording is redistributed to others without the express, written permission of Dynamics Edge, Inc.
You are not allowed to record the session yourself without Dynamics Edge’s express, written permission, but in the case that you do decide to record the session yourself anyway without our permission, you should note that you may only retain this recording for your own personal use at all times, and if you recorded the material without permission, you would be in possession of confidential material that we did not authorize you to have, and you may be legally required to destroy the confidential material within a reasonable period of time, or at any time we ask or request you to do so.
You should expect to receive digital copies only. Much of our courseware is written by us as well for many of our newer courses. In the event that we ship physical books – you should except to receive them a week or less than a week prior to class.
Typically you will receive your books one (1) week or less than 1 week prior to the start of class. We provide tracking numbers to students once they are generated by our vendor. If the books are digital courseware, such as for instance the courseware we write ourselves, we may instead provide them to you just prior to the start of class or at the very beginning of the first day of class.
No. Dynamics Edge courseware is always considered confidential material that has actual value, and this value may be compromised or reduced if this material is redistributed to others without the express, written permission of Dynamics Edge, Inc. Courseware is only for your own, personal use, and can only be used by the specific individual who attended the class. You will need to ask for a specific written exception from Dynamics Edge, Inc. for your case if you want to do something like, for example, to allow your manager that isn’t attending the class to review the courseware you received, etc.
You should consider books and courseware essentially the same thing, and we usually call it “courseware.” For a lot of our newer courses we actually write our own courseware. Whether the courseware is written by us or is provided through a trusted vendor (such as Microsoft or a trusted Microsoft publisher or distributor) you should consider all courseware as confidential material in any case, and should only retain courseware for personal use only. If you have a specific written exception for your case, make sure to only use the courseware within the parameters of what was written in order to protect the value of your investment for yourself and for others.
Yes. However, some courses are ineligible — your best bet is to contact us.
