Dynamics 365 SCM

Imagine that you are just unable to add purchase order line on to the existing load, after trying to add a purchase order (PO) line to an existing load in the Warehouse Management module. Then you might encounter the error: “The setting of the ‘Add transportation charges to orders’ field for delivery term PO123456 does not match other lines on the load.” This error usually only affects migrated POs and not newly created ones. With Microsoft D365 SCM consulting training December 2024 let Dynamics Edge teach you to help your organizations and businesses to start on adapting to relevant market demands by optimizing their supply chain operations well. The D365 training issue in SCM can happen because the Freight Payer field (related to whether Dynamics 365 supply chain management training transportation charges are added to the order or not) on the PO line that is being added does not currently match the setting already applied to the existing load. The D365 supply chain management consulting system actually compares the settings of the PO and the load, and if they are not the same, then the error could happen.

Behind the scenes, when the load was first created, it captured the Freight Payer setting from the PO line. When a new PO line is then being added to the load, its Freight Payer setting ends up being compared with the existing load’s setting. If they don’t really match (e.g., one is set to ‘Yes’ and the other to ‘No’ for instance), the system then blocks the addition of the PO line.

Possible Solutions:

  • Personalize the Load Header: Add the Freight Payer field to the Load Header using Personalization in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
  • Check the Settings: Compare the Freight Payer setting on the load and the PO line. Ensure both have the same setting (either both should be ‘Yes’ or both should be ‘No’).
  • Modify Settings if Needed: Adjust the settings if necessary to ensure they are consistent before trying to add the PO line again.

Why it Works:

The resolution might work because Dynamics 365 checks for consistency in delivery terms between the PO and the load. The system prevents adding POs to a load if there is a mismatch in the Freight Payer field to avoid discrepancies in transportation charges. By aligning the settings between the PO and the load, the error is resolved, allowing the PO line to be added successfully. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, specifically the Warehouse Management module is by the vendor Microsoft.
