Dynamics CRM Online Backup Training
Let us suppose you wanted a Microsoft SQL server underlying CRM database copy for backup purposes and/or for importing into your on premises Dynamics CRM. Before, such as in Dynamics CRM 2016 online, you could send a support ticket to Microsoft, and they’d prepare an FTP download link for you. Also, because it was a SQL database of Dynamics CRM you could be able to import into your on-premise Dynamics CRM 2016 for instance. This is distinct from the backups you do through the Dynamics 365 Administration Center that just stay in the cloud. However, this is not supported anymore as of the newer releases of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CRM), and actually this still is not supported as of July 19, 2018. The truth is, Microsoft does not officially support this SQL database FTP feature anymore. one reason being that there are lots of features that only exist in Dynamics 365 CRM (Customer Engagement) online version only. However, if the feature of SQL FTP transfer through Microsoft support ticket becomes available in future, Microsoft should notify you, and we’ll go over this and other questions like this of yours in our Dynamics CRM training courses!
